Time Loops, documentary film
A short documentary film about the community dance performance TIME LOOPS.
Skånes Dansteater's dance performance Time Loops premiered on International Dance Day, April 29, 2022 in Drottninghög in Helsingborg. Just before, the first seeds for the performance were sprouted together with 60 fourth and fifth graders from Drottninghögskolan in Helsingborg. The Time Loops parade then made its way through Skåne – via Klostergården in Lund, Knislinge and Höör and making its last stop in Simrishamn in July.
During four months, four dancers from Skånes Dansteater met a total of 140 participants ages 7–67 in five different communities throughout Skåne. Based on a method and an artistic concept created by choreographer Rachel Tess and sound designer Uli Ruchlinski, the participants, together with the dancers, met on eight occasions and created a performance that was then performed with free admission in public spaces in each community.
In total, six unique performances were created and attended by an audience of over 700 people.
The first weeks of the project were documented by Skånes Dansteater's filmmaker Carl Johan Folkesson and the result is this short documentary film.
With this film, Skånes Dansteater shares some of the great meetings this project generated and from the bottom of our hearts we thank all who participated in the project, contributed and created what became TIME LOOPS SKÅNE 2022!
